Bio-curling: nuances of the procedure

Healthy and luxurious curls are the dream of many women. However, any long-term styling is considered harmful to the hair, so really desperate fashionistas decide on perms. However, the beauty industry today is ready to offer a relatively safe way of curling — bio-curling for hair of any length.

Biological perm is a new word in the art of hairdressing, its feature is a soft and harmless effect on the hair. Indeed, the mixtures used for bio-curling do not include ammonia, they do not contain hydrogen peroxide and thioglycolic acid, i.e. all that can significantly harm hair. The main component of these mixtures is cysteamic acid (a synthetic substance, an analog of a natural amino acid that is part of hair).

To make the perm really safe, trust your hair only to professionals. Hairdressers well understand that it is important to follow all stages and to use only high-quality products and formulations.

Reviews of owners of curls made by the new curling method indicate that after the procedure the hair becomes obedient and looks healthier. The fact is that cysteamic acid saturates the hair, making it strong and elastic, allowing it to form a curl even on long hair, as well as on hair that is occasionally dyed.

The master will tell you how to keep a perm for a long time. So, if the hair is naturally heavy and thick, professionals recommend making a small graduation before curling, otherwise, the curls will straighten out under their own weight.

First, the master washes the head with high-quality shampoo for thorough cleaning. Already at this stage, active preparation is underway – a special shampoo will allow the curling composition to penetrate well into the hair structure. After that, the hair is wound with a curler. Their diameter can be different (depending on your wishes). Curly hair on curlers is covered with a special composition, kept for some time, and washed off.

The final stage is the application of a composition that protects and nourishes the hair, and only after that, the curlers are removed. If the work is done correctly, the biological curl lasts up to 6 months and the hairstyle looks well-groomed. If you do not want elastic curls, but natural curls or waves, notify the master about this in advance, and he will dilute the composition and make it a little different than for “hard” bio-curling.

It is worth postponing a visit to the hairdresser if you have hormonal disturbances in your body, critical days, pregnancy, or if you take strong medications. All this, surprisingly, can affect the result of curling – and not for the better.

In fairness, it is worth noting that even bio-curling can cause some negative effects on hair, because the mechanism of creating a curl is based on the destruction of natural bonds inside the hair. That is why you should not do bio-perm very often. Once your hair has the desired curls, take care of them properly.
